Why this matters in Spain
A young person who leaves school at sixteen without the compulsory secondary certificate faces a hard labor market. Early school leaving has long been higher than the EU average, and many of those who do find work move between short temporary contracts in hospitality, retail or agriculture without building skills or a track record. When the economy slows, they are the first let go.
The gap is partly about connections. Recruiters lean on referrals and previous experience, which young people from low-income families or from migrant backgrounds often lack. Public employment services handle large caseloads and have limited time for the coaching that someone with no work history needs. Training inside a company changes that: it gives the young person real experience, a reference and daily contact with colleagues, and it gives employers a low-risk way to see what a candidate can do.

Organization
Fundación Exit · Spain
Agencia Tributaria NIF (Registro de Fundaciones no. 131SND) · No. G62203047
Founded 2000 · Headquarters: Barcelona
Spanish foundation running company-based training and job-insertion programmes for vulnerable youth.
How they work: Fundación Exit builds its programs around companies. In Proyecto Coach, its best-known model, employees volunteer as coaches for young people referred by partner social organizations, meeting them over several sessions and opening the doors of their workplace. Exit also designs training that takes place inside companies, so young people learn on the job and employers get to know them before hiring. Partner social organizations handle much of the day-to-day support, while Exit links them to the business side.
Track record: Founded in 2000, Exit worked with 1,132 young people in 2024 across nine Spanish regions, managing 197 job offers and achieving 167 job placements.

Giving in Spain
Two very different gaps define the Spanish causes. Depopulated rural regions where local clinics have closed receive mobile health units through the regional health service of Castilla y Leon. Young jobseekers, in a country where youth unemployment stood at 23.4 percent in mid-2026, the second highest in the EU, gain company-based training, coaching and job placement through Fundacion Exit. One cause addresses the emptying countryside, the other the difficulty young people face in starting work, both long-running concerns in Spain.
2 causes are listed in Spain, each with its own verified organization. $284,549 has been distributed to causes in Spain since 2021.
