Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 21, 2024. This statement was created on September 21, 2026, following the W3C Accessibility Statement Generator Tool format.
Contents
1. Our commitment
DonateCrypto is committed to making donatecrypto.co usable by as many people as possible, including donors who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, or keyboard-only navigation. We see this as directly connected to our mission — a donation platform that's hard to use isn't fully open to everyone who wants to give.
2. Measures we take
- Semantic HTML structure, so headings, lists, and page regions are identifiable by assistive technology
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background across the site's design
- A donation flow that can be operated by keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
- Cookie preferences that remain reachable and changeable at any time, not just on first visit
3. Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for improving accessibility for people with disabilities, across three levels: A, AA, and AAA.
Partially conformant means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. This is not a claim of full or independently verified conformance.
4. How we assessed this
This statement reflects an internal self-assessment by our own team, not an independent third-party audit. We used automated scanning (axe DevTools) alongside manual keyboard-navigation and screen-reader spot checks to identify the issues described in Section 6. We have not yet engaged an external accessibility auditor. If and when we do, this section will be updated to name the auditor and their findings.
5. Technical specifications
Accessibility of donatecrypto.co relies on the following technologies working together with your browser and any assistive technology installed on your device: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
6. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some interactive elements (such as the world map illustration) are primarily visual and may not convey full information to screen reader users
- Some third-party embedded content (such as cause-submitted images) may lack alt text if not provided by the source
If you encounter a barrier not listed here, we want to know about it — see Section 7.
7. Feedback
