Funds regular supply deliveries to elderly residents who remained in villages near the front line, unable or unwilling to evacuate.
Why this matters in Ukraine
Older people make up a large share of those still living in villages close to the front line in eastern and southern Ukraine. Some refuse to leave the house and land they have worked for decades, some care for a bedridden spouse, and some have nowhere to go and no money to rent elsewhere. Shops, pharmacies and post offices in these villages have often closed, and shelling damages power lines, water supplies and roads.
Pensions are still paid but are hard to collect or spend where no bank branch or shop is open. Commercial deliveries stopped long ago in many places, and local authorities near the front work with depleted staff and budgets. Residents depend on humanitarian teams for drinking water, food, medicine and heating fuel. Regular, predictable deliveries let older people plan around them and cut down on dangerous trips to the nearest town.

Organization
Proliska · Ukraine
Founded 2014
Ukrainian humanitarian NGO and UNHCR partner delivering aid and evacuation support to residents, many of them elderly, in frontline communities.
How they work: Proliska was founded in 2014 in response to the conflict in the east and works mainly in communities near the front line. With UNHCR it runs protection work, including a hotline, needs monitoring and referrals to other services. Its teams deliver assistance directly, organize evacuations for people with limited mobility and have supported local social workers who visit isolated older people, for example by supplying bicycles and electric tricycles so they can reach more homes with food, pensions and medicine.
Track record: A UNHCR partner since 2016 with about 1,000 staff in 13 regions, Proliska has helped evacuate thousands from frontline areas and delivers water, medical care and supplies.

Giving in Ukraine
War shapes every Ukrainian cause on the list. Two support elderly people who stayed in frontline villages, too frail or unwilling to leave, through home-based care and regular supply deliveries. Caritas Ukraine funds church-run shelter and food for displaced families near the front. The remaining two serve veterans: trauma care through Veteran Hub, and prosthetic limbs and physical rehabilitation through Superhumans Center, needs that grow as the fighting continues.
5 causes are listed in Ukraine, each with its own verified organization. $265,284 has been distributed to causes in Ukraine since 2021.
