How to Donate Crypto from Binance

Binance lists every coin we accept and usually offers several networks for each. Picking the right one is the whole job. This guide gives the network to choose for each coin, explains why Binance's automatic network choice can still be wrong, and covers fees, the XRP memo, security checks and the TxID.

A Binance withdrawal has two parts that must match: the coin and the network. Binance itself puts it bluntly in its withdrawal guide: “DO NOT select the cheapest fee option.” Choose the network the receiving side supports. For us, that means:

CoinBinance networkWatch out for
Bitcoin (BTC)BTC or BTC (SegWit)Lightning, and BTC on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20)
Ethereum (ETH)Ethereum (ERC20)BNB Smart Chain and layer 2 networks such as Arbitrum or Base
USDCEthereum (ERC20)BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), Solana and others
USDTTron (TRC20)Ethereum (ERC20) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP20)
BNBBNB Smart Chain (BEP20)opBNB and Ethereum
TRON (TRX)Tron (TRC20)BNB Smart Chain
Solana (SOL)SolanaBNB Smart Chain

Why the automatic network can still be wrong

On the website, Binance picks the network from the address you paste. That works well when an address format belongs to one network, like our T address for TRON or r address for XRP. It can’t work for our 0x address, which is valid on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and many other networks. For ETH and USDC the network must say ERC20; for BNB it must say BEP20. Check it every time.

Withdrawing in the Binance app

  1. Copy our address for your coin from our homepage after choosing a cause and amount.
  2. In the app, go to Assets → Overview → Send, then Withdraw Asset.
  3. Choose the account to send from and the coin.
  4. Paste our address and select the network from the table above.
  5. Enter the amount (see Fees below for the two ways Binance counts it).
  6. If Binance asks how often you’ll withdraw to this address, choose One Time, then Withdraw. The first time you send to a new address, Binance shows a safety notice and suggests a small test amount first.
  7. Check the address and network once more, slide to confirm, and verify with your passkey or 2FA.

Withdrawing on the Binance website

  1. Go to Assets → Overview → Withdraw → Withdraw Asset.
  2. Choose Address, not Binance User. Sending to a Binance user by email, phone or Binance ID is an internal transfer that never reaches the blockchain or us.
  3. Paste our address. Binance fills in the network; check it against the table.
  4. If Binance asks whether the receiving platform supports this network, confirm only if the network matches the table.
  5. Click Continue and complete the security verification.

Fees: “Receive amount” or “Withdrawal amount”

Binance charges a withdrawal (network) fee that depends on the coin and network, and shows it, along with any minimum, before you confirm. You can enter the amount in two ways:

  • Receive amount: the amount you type is what arrives, and the fee is added on top.
  • Withdrawal amount: the fee is taken out of the amount you type, so slightly less arrives.

If you want your donation to be an exact figure, use Receive amount.

The XRP memo

Binance asks for a memo (destination tag) for some networks, including XRP, because many exchange addresses need one. Our XRP address doesn’t: leave the memo empty. If the app offers a choice saying a memo isn’t required, select it. Don’t type a random number to get past the field; if Binance won’t let you continue without one, contact Binance support or us first. Our XRP guide explains tags in more detail.

Security checks you may see

  • Passkey or 2FA: every withdrawal needs to be verified.
  • Withdrawal whitelist: if you have turned it on, you can only send to saved addresses, so add our address to your whitelist first. Adding one requires 2FA.
  • Test transaction: for a large gift, sending a small amount first and checking it arrives is a sensible habit Binance itself recommends.
  • Temporary suspensions: withdrawals can be paused after some account changes, such as a password reset, or while a network is under maintenance. The withdrawal page tells you when.

Finding the TxID

On the website, open Wallet → Overview → Orders → Assets History, then the Withdraw tab. When the status says Completed, click the TxID to copy it. Binance says a TxID is usually generated within 1 to 30 minutes of your withdrawal request, which shows it has been broadcast, and to contact its support if none appears after 6 hours. If your history shows an internal transfer instead of a TxID, the transfer stayed inside Binance and didn’t reach us; contact us.

Common questions

Does this work on Binance.US?

The steps are similar, but Binance.US supports fewer coins and networks than binance.com, and adds an email confirmation step. Check that the coin is available on the network in our table before you start; if it isn’t, choose another coin we accept.

Which network is cheapest?

It doesn’t matter for a donation to us: only the network in the table will arrive where we can credit it. A cheaper network sends the coin somewhere we can’t credit.

Can I donate with Binance Pay?

No. Binance Pay and transfers to Binance users happen inside Binance. Use a normal withdrawal to our address so the donation is recorded on the blockchain.
