Donating

7 questions

No. Like all blockchain transactions, crypto donations cannot be reversed once confirmed — please double-check the amount and cause before sending.

Your transaction ID (or uploaded proof) is matched against the address and amount for the cause you selected, then verified directly on the blockchain before being marked confirmed.

No. We don't deduct a platform fee from any donation — network fees charged by the blockchain itself still apply, as they do with any crypto transaction.

It's an optional 5% you can add on top of your donation. Amplify contributions from every donor who opts in are pooled together and distributed proportionally across all causes at the end of each month — so causes that get fewer direct donations still receive some support. It's real money from real donors, not a matching gift funded by us.

Your donation is still confirmed for whatever amount actually arrives on-chain — just note that crypto prices move, so the USD-equivalent value may differ slightly from what you entered.

Yes. We never require a name or personal details to donate — only your chosen amount, cause, and cryptocurrency. If you want a tax receipt, you can add just an email at the confirmation step; if you'd rather stay fully anonymous, you can skip that too.

Our team checks each transaction on the blockchain. If you add an email, you'll get a confirmation email when you submit your donation, and your official receipt once the transaction has been verified. Until then, the donation shows as Pending in your account.

Crypto & wallets

5 questions

We accept nine cryptocurrencies, each on one network only:

  • Bitcoin (BTC) — Bitcoin network
  • Ethereum (ETH) — Ethereum mainnet
  • BNB — BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)
  • USD Coin (USDC) — Ethereum (ERC-20)
  • Tether (USDT) — TRON (TRC-20)
  • TRON (TRX) — TRON network
  • XRP — XRP Ledger
  • Solana (SOL) — Solana network
  • Dogecoin (DOGE) — Dogecoin network

Each coin's address is shown when you pick a cause and reach the “select cryptocurrency” step — always send on the network listed there.

Blockchain transfers can't be reversed, so please check before you send — each coin shows the one network we accept it on. If you've already sent on a different network, contact us with your transaction ID (TXID) straight away. Recovery is sometimes possible, but it isn't guaranteed.

Yes — you'll need a wallet (or an exchange account that lets you withdraw) holding the cryptocurrency you want to give, since you're sending directly to our address rather than paying through a card processor.

A transaction ID (TXID) lets us verify your donation directly on the blockchain — it's the only proof that can't be faked or misread, unlike a screenshot, and it's how we confirm the exact amount and cause your donation should be credited to.

Confirmation times depend on the network you used, not on us — some chains confirm in seconds, others can take longer during congestion. Once it confirms on-chain, our team verifies it and your donation moves from Pending to confirmed. If it's been more than a few hours, contact us with your transaction ID.

Taxes & receipts

4 questions

Yes — add your email at the confirmation step. The first email you receive simply acknowledges your submission; the official receipt is emailed once your transaction has been verified on the blockchain. It states the organization's name (Global Relief Group) and EIN (27-3281810), the coin and quantity received, the date, and that no goods or services were provided in exchange for your gift.

If you're a US taxpayer, your gift may be tax-deductible, because Global Relief Group is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Outside the US, it depends on your local rules. The IRS treats cryptocurrency as property, and for a gift worth more than $5,000 you'll generally need a qualified appraisal and IRS Form 8283. This isn't tax advice — check with a qualified tax advisor for your specific situation.

Contact us with the email you used and roughly when you donated, and we'll look it up and resend it.

Yes — adding an email for your receipt doesn't require your name or any other personal information. The receipt is simply emailed to the address you provide.

Causes & vetting

4 questions

Every cause listed goes through a review process before it's added and is checked periodically after that. The full criteria are on our How We Vet Causes page.

Yes — reach out with the organization's name and what they do, and our team will look into whether they meet our vetting criteria.

Apply through our For Nonprofits page — it walks you through eligibility and what we need to verify your organization. Most applications are reviewed within two to three weeks.

Gifts are received in crypto into Global Relief Group's own verified wallets, managed by our team — causes don't receive crypto directly and don't need wallets of their own. Within 24 hours of a donation being confirmed, we convert it and send it by bank transfer to the registered bank account of the partner organization behind the cause you chose. Only blockchain network fees apply.

Account & tracking

4 questions

No — you can donate without signing up. An account just makes it easier to see your own donation history in one place afterward.

Visit My Donations — if you used the same email across donations, they'll be grouped together there.

Yes — at the confirmation step you can choose a frequency instead of a one-time gift, and we'll send a reminder email each cycle if you provide one.

Yes. Every reminder email includes a link to stop them, and you can also stop them any time from the Monthly pledges section of your account on My Donations.
