1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of donatecrypto.co (the "Platform"). DonateCrypto is the crypto-giving program of Global Relief Group, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 27-3281810) ("DonateCrypto," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Platform, including by sending a cryptocurrency donation through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. What DonateCrypto is
DonateCrypto lets donors give cryptocurrency to causes we have listed after review. When you donate, you choose a cause, and you send your gift to Global Relief Group's own verified wallet for the coin you chose. There is one receiving address per coin, shared by all causes; your donation record (including your transaction ID) is what ties your gift to the cause you chose.
Global Relief Group receives donated cryptocurrency into those wallets. Once a donation is confirmed, we normally convert it and send it to the partner organization for the cause you chose within 24 hours. Your choice of cause is recorded as your preference; as a 501(c)(3) organization, Global Relief Group retains discretion and control over the use of all contributions.
We are not a payment processor, broker, exchange, or bank, and we do not provide wallet services to donors. We never have access to your own wallet or its private keys.
3. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Platform. You are solely responsible for determining whether sending a cryptocurrency donation through this Platform is lawful where you live. You are responsible for your own cryptocurrency wallet, private keys, and the security of any device or service you use to send a donation.
4. The nature of crypto donations
You enter your gift as an amount in US dollars (minimum $1). The Platform shows the equivalent amount in your chosen coin using a live price, which is an estimate; the amount of the coin we actually receive is what counts for your donation record and receipt. We accept nine coins, each on one network only:
- BTC on Bitcoin
- ETH on Ethereum
- BNB on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)
- USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20)
- USDT on TRON (TRC-20)
- TRX on TRON
- XRP on the XRP Ledger
- SOL on Solana
- DOGE on Dogecoin
DonateCrypto charges no platform fee. Blockchain network fees apply to every transfer and are set by the network, not by us.
Cryptocurrency transfers are irreversible once sent, so donations cannot be refunded. We cannot reverse or cancel a transfer for any reason, including sending the wrong amount or a change of mind. Double-check the coin, network, address, and amount before sending. Coins sent on the wrong network or to the wrong address may be lost. In some cases we may be able to recover them, but we cannot guarantee it — if this happens, contact us with your transaction ID.
Monthly giving. If you choose the monthly option, you give us an email address and we send you a reminder each month. Nothing is charged or sent automatically — each monthly gift is a new transfer you choose to make. Every reminder includes a one-click link to stop reminders, and you can also stop them from your account.
5. Confirming a donation
After sending a donation, you submit its transaction ID, or upload an image as proof of payment, through the confirmation step on the Platform. If you uploaded a proof image, it is emailed to our team and is not stored on the website. If you gave an email address, we send you an acknowledgment.
Our team then checks the transaction on the relevant public blockchain and marks the donation as Confirmed or Not verified. When a donation is confirmed, we email you an official receipt showing our organization's name, EIN, and 501(c)(3) status; the coin and quantity received; the date; a receipt number; a statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange; and a statement that your cause designation is a preference and that Global Relief Group retains discretion and control over the use of contributions.
A missing or incorrect transaction ID may delay or prevent us from confirming your donation and matching it to your donation record. Submitting a confirmation does not create any obligation on our part beyond what is stated in these Terms.
6. How causes are vetted, and what that doesn't cover
We review causes before listing them, as described on our How We Vet Causes page, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. That review does not include an ongoing, independent audit of each cause's internal financials. On-chain traceability confirms that a donation reached our wallet; it does not, by itself, show how a cause uses the funds after we send them to its partner organization.
7. The Amplify Fund
The Amplify Fund is an optional extra 5% you may choose to add on top of your donation. Amplify Fund contributions from all participating donors are pooled and shared across all listed causes. The pool is distributed proportionally across every listed cause at the end of each month. Amplify Fund contributions are not matched, subsidized, or supplemented by DonateCrypto — the pool consists solely of donor contributions.
8. Donor messages
If you leave an optional message when you donate, it is stored with your donation record and read by our team. It is not part of the blockchain transaction, is not shared publicly, and is not automatically forwarded to the cause you supported.
9. Accounts and donation history
You may create an optional account to save causes and view your donation history on the My Donations page. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Donation history in your account reflects donations we have been able to match to you through submitted transaction confirmations and is provided for your convenience — it is not a substitute for your official receipts or your own records for tax or other purposes.
10. No tax, legal, or financial advice
DonateCrypto does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. As general information only: donations may be tax-deductible for US taxpayers; outside the United States, deductibility depends on local rules. The IRS treats cryptocurrency as property, and gifts of cryptocurrency valued at more than $5,000 generally require a qualified appraisal and IRS Form 8283. Our receipts state the coin and quantity received. Whether and to what extent your donation is deductible depends on your circumstances and applicable law — consult a qualified tax, legal, or financial advisor.
11. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- Send funds derived from illegal activity, or in violation of applicable sanctions, anti-money-laundering, or counter-terrorism-financing laws
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Platform or its underlying systems
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including false transaction confirmations
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one
- Use the Platform in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
12. Intellectual property
The Platform's design, text, graphics, and other content, excluding cause-submitted material and donor-submitted content, are owned by or licensed to DonateCrypto and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Platform content without our prior written permission.
13. Causes and third-party links
Causes listed on the Platform are independent organizations or activities, not operated or controlled by DonateCrypto. We are not responsible for the actions, omissions, or statements of any listed cause, or for its use of funds after we pay them out, beyond what is described in these Terms and our vetting page. Live coin prices and coin logos on the Platform come from a third-party price service (CoinGecko) and may be delayed or unavailable. The Platform may also link to third-party websites we do not control; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
14. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that displayed prices are accurate at the moment you send, or that any cause listed will use funds in any particular way.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DonateCrypto and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of funds, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform or any donation sent through it, including losses resulting from donor error, network fees, blockchain congestion, price changes, or a cause's use of funds after we pay them out.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DonateCrypto and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any claim, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will first be addressed informally: contact us at support@donatecrypto.co and we will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute within 30 days. If informal resolution fails, any remaining dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in Sacramento County, California, or remotely by agreement of both parties. Each party will bear its own attorneys' fees unless the arbitrator determines otherwise. Disputes will be resolved on an individual basis only; you and DonateCrypto each waive the right to bring or participate in a class, consolidated, or representative action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where jurisdiction and amount permit, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to prevent misuse of the Platform or infringement of intellectual property rights.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
19. Termination
We may suspend or restrict your access to the Platform, including account features, at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Transfers already sent on a blockchain cannot be undone by any such suspension.
20. Contact us
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@donatecrypto.co or through our contact page, or by mail to Global Relief Group, 428 J St, 4th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814, United States.
